Service Description

​1. MRCS Part B Surgical Anatomy & Pathology Revision Course | Dates: Sat 26th to 27th August 23 | Online Via Zoom We cover all the key areas of surgical anatomy and pathology specifically for the MRCS Part B exam. The teaching will aid the candidate through the OSCE stations. You will be taught by Mr Pathak, current FRCS Urology Part A MCQ writer, ex-Anatomy examiner at the University of Oxford.  Teaching format: ‘> Live online & interactive ‘> High yield focused teaching in line with the MRCS Part B syllabus ‘> Notes will be emailed a week before the start of the course.  ---------- 2. MRCS Part B Oral OSCE's | Dates: Saturday 9th to Sunday 10th September 23 | 2 days Location Sheffield Hallam University, Sheffield, S1 1WB  Summary: Oral OSCE examinations (excluding Anatomy OSCE’s) under simulated exam conditions. You will receive individual feedback and you will pick up lots of tips and pointers. Each delegate will be examined for 9 minutes whilst being observed by other delegates. Oral examinations will be conducted by: 1. Mr Sanjeev Pathak (ex-Anatomy examiner, University of Oxford, FRSC Urology MCQ Writer) 2. Professional actor* (ex-MRCS Part B simulated patient) 3. Consultant Anaesthetist* (ex-MRCS part B Examiner) Stations covered: 2 day OSCE's: √ Surgical Pathology √ Applied surgical and critical care √ Communication stations (excluding history taking) √ Clinical and procedural skills - Surgical Anatomy OSCE's will be examined on the Anatomy OSCE day with specimens, bones and radiological imaging. Please note, during these 2 days we will only practise OSCE's and there will be no teaching. ---------- 3. MRCS Part B Anatomy OSCE's with specimens | Date: Mon 11th September 23 | 1 day Location: The School of Biosciences, Alfred Denny Building, The University of Sheffield, S10 2TN, UK. The Surgical Anatomy stations will be tested using anatomical specimens, bones and radiological imaging*. Each delegate will be examined whilst being observed by other delegates. Constructive feedback will be given by Mr Pathak. Time will be available for group discussion. We would strongly encourage delegates to be interactive.  *subject to availability Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
